It's official, our launch date will be Friday, 19th July 2019. Our lease has been finalised and we've been working hard over the last few weeks continuing with the transformation of the property into a brand new virtual reality centre. We've had to move our provisional June launch date back due to a delay by our internet provider getting us connected. We can confirm that life does exist without the internet these days, however it's dark and scary, a bit like Affected: The Manor but without the screaming.
Phase 2 of the transformation is now complete. Our 7 VR gaming arenas have been built and we think we've laid enough new network cable to loop around the whole of Stoke on Trent at least 10 times... almost. The old, former nightclub bar counters have now been removed and everywhere has been fully repainted. A brand new intruder alarm and cutting-edge CCTV system have now been installed, along with less glamorous tech like new emergency lighting, electrical wiring and fire alarm system.
Monday was a monster day as we hired a truck from Manchester to collect our XP-FLYING and XP-RACING simulators from a freight storage depot in Cheshire. Weighing in at over 200kgs each, these are big machines but will offer players an amazing 7D virtual experience that you can't get elsewhere in Staffordshire! We also picked up the remainder of our custom built VR gaming computers from OverclockersUK that will power the virtual reality experiences in each gaming arena. 3 Luton Van loads later, aching backs and a 11:30pm finish meant we had finally cracked it.
We've started the final phase of the transformation getting ready for opening in a few weeks time. Our online booking system will go live this weekend and we'll be busy setting up and installing our new kit.
The installation of our new shop front sigange is currently underway andour new window decal graphics will go on next week. Have you seen a T-Rex yet ...he was last spotted somewhere on Piccadilly?
3 weeks to go!
Rhys and Lewis.
